ÇAKÜ Ranks 1st in Türkiye with the Highest Erasmus+ Budget Increase Rate in 2024

Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) has been recognized for its outstanding performance in Erasmus+ mobility programs, ranking first in Türkiye for the highest budget increase rate in 2024. This achievement was announced during the Erasmus+ KA 131 Mobility Project Management Meeting, which took place on November 19-20, 2024, at Mardin Artuklu University. The event was supported by the European Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, gathering experts from the Turkish National Agency, directors of International Student and Exchange Programs Offices, and staff from international offices across universities.Representing ÇAKÜ at the meeting, Dr. Mehmet Ali DEMİR and Inst. Tayfur UYSAL participated in discussions on the 2024 Erasmus+ mobility processes, focusing on strengthening international partnerships and ensuring high-quality cooperation with universities worldwide.

The meeting included presentations from national agency experts covering topics such as the 2024 Grant Distribution Evaluation, innovations in the Erasmus+ 2024 Implementation Handbook, recognition of university examples, Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), documents used in the KA131 process, and common problems encountered in final reports and audits.

In the 2024 grant distribution evaluation, ÇAKÜ stood out once again, ranking first among universities for the largest increase in Erasmus+ KA131 Student and Staff Mobility grants. With a remarkable 59% increase in funding compared to 2023, ÇAKÜ demonstrated its commitment to expanding international mobility opportunities.

Rector Prof. Dr. Harun ÇİFTÇİ attributed this success to the dedicated efforts of the Erasmus Coordination Office, emphasizing that this achievement is no accident. Looking ahead, Prof. ÇİFTÇİ set an ambitious goal to increase this rate by 200% in 2025, aiming to involve even more students and staff in mobility processes.

Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Dr. Şuayip TURAN expressed pride in the university`s ongoing success, highlighting their consistent achievement in fully utilizing the grant for students and staff each year. Dr. TURAN also noted that the future focus would be on expanding bilateral agreement networks as part of ÇAKÜ’s broader internationalization strategy. He concluded by congratulating all ÇAKÜ staff involved in this remarkable achievement.
