ÇAKU NEWS CENTER////

RECTOR Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi came together with Palestinian students studying at our university. Stating that there is a great human tragedy in Gaza and that different nations around the world cannot remain silent about this drama, Rector Çiftçi said, "We are trying to do whatever we can in this regard. If our esteemed Palestinian brothers and sisters have any problems and troubles, we want to listen to them firsthand." Rector Çiftçi pointed out that the Palestinian issue is not only the issue of the Turkish-Islamic world or the Arab world, but the whole world and "there are some decisions taken by the United Nations (UN). At this stage we have reached, we closely follow the human rights violations, persecution, marginalization, and occupation process that Israel has been carrying out for years and we are really saddened. It is not acceptable to turn a blind eye to these incidents in the modern age and to support these atrocities by Israel. We have previously announced to the public the decision we took at Çankırı Karatekin University Senate. We expressed our condemnation of Israel and its supporters. Our wish is that states and organizations with initiative should be involved in this process. But unfortunately, the states from which we expect initiative have closed their eyes and ears," he said.

Emphasizing that the world is on the verge of a serious change, Rector Çiftçi said: "As our President states in every meeting, the UN is no longer able to provide security in the world. There are wars all over the world and there are children, the elderly, women, and civilians affected by these wars. Therefore, you see that it is civil initiatives rather than the states, that are reacting to the massacres. Politically, various and strong voices are being raised. In addition to all the negativity, there are also such developments that give rise to hope. We hope and pray that our people in Palestine, Gaza and other oppressed geographies of the world, who are suffering, persecuted and occupied, will reach the atmosphere they desire as soon as possible."

PRODUCTS OF COMPANIES SUPPORTING ISRAEL WILL NOT BE SOLD IN UNIVERSITY FACILITIES

Rector Çiftçi, who announced that Çankırı Karatekin University has taken decisions against the genocide policy of Israel against Gaza, continued his words as follows: "We continue our efforts to publicize the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza to the world and Turkish public opinion in different ways. We aim to clarify the issues that cause information pollution about Palestine and to reveal the facts about this issue. We will explain Israel`s plan to occupy Palestine, what Israel wants to do in the Middle East in the future, and what secret projects it is carrying out on other states in the region."

Rector Çiftçi declared that they will not sell the products of companies that support Israel`s genocide policies in the university facilities and said, "We have a policy that we have already implemented before due to similar sensitivities. We will only sell local and national, Turkish-made products." Rector Çiftçi also stated that they plan to tell the reality of what is happening in Palestine to the public through student communities and said the following: "At the stands we will set up at our university, we will support the work of other communities that are sensitive to this issue, especially you, our esteemed students. We will also contribute to our Palestinian students who have financial and moral difficulties at the point of education and training. We will meet with you at our Department of Health, Culture and Sports and provide separate support in this regard. We want the world to become more livable. We want every nation to have a form of government in which it can determine its future with its own free will. We see it as essential that a fully independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, with clear geographical borders, to be established and recognized by other states as soon as possible. We are making an effort for this. We constantly express this point, especially in the meetings we have held in our research and application centers, in the congresses held by our faculty members and in the meetings, we have held to inform the public. The world is not the old world. New centers are emerging around the world. With the efforts of our President, we hope that positive steps will be taken in the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic-Islamic world, and the Arab League Organization. We also appreciate the Organization of Turkic States` condemnation of Israel and support for the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. From Central Asia to the Balkans, from America to Australia, the following situation is now a reality on all continents: an immediate end to the oppression in Palestine, the start of negotiations and the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state. We are trying to provide the best support we can in this regard. May God help the entire Islamic geography."

At the end of the meeting, Rector Çiftçi thanked our Palestinian students for their participation and stated that they would come together in the future and that they would like them to convey the problems they experienced during this process in person.
