Çankırı Karatekin University Rector Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi met with the delegation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism and discussed cooperation opportunities.
Rector Çiftçi negotiated in order to provide internship and professional experience within the scope of 3+1 and 7+1 programs in order to ensure that the qualified human resources needed by the labor market, especially the students of Ilgaz Tourism Faculty, studying at Çankırı Karatekin University, can take part in the Bulgarian tourism sector. In this context, in line with both the education and internationalization strategy, he emphasized that they are trying to differentiate our students from other graduates by increasing the number of internship opportunities abroad, which are not many examples in Türkiye, for students to be qualified individuals sought in the labor market when they graduate.
Georgi Alipiev, director of the Bulgarian delegation, emphasized the importance of increasing the cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector and appreciated Türkiye`s success in the field of tourism. He stated that it is very valuable for the students studying in Çankırı to gain internship and professional experience in related fields in Bulgaria for the development of both countries together. He also stated that they will support projects that can be done in the field of tourism and that it is vital for ÇAKU academics to work in the fields that both academic and labor market needs.
Following these meetings, Rector Çiftçi stated that it would be productive for students and academics for the deans of the Faculty of Tourism to come together and that a meeting will be organized in Çankırı as soon as possible.
