TURKISH PROGRAM (TÖMER) PROFICIENCY EXAM (27.10.2020)
The Turkish Proficiency Exam will be held on October 27, 2020 at 14:00, online and face to face. Those who want to take the face-to-face exam can take the exam at the Language Education Application and Research Center.. (Address: Türk Telekom Yanı. Sanat, Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Binası 6.kat Merkez/Çankırı)
It is highly recommended that you take the face-to-face exam due to the difficulties experienced in online exams.
Face-to-face exam will be conducted in accordance with social distance, mask and hygiene rules.
Please have a pencil, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, your passport or your ID card and a mask with you during the face-to-face exam.
The Online Proficiency Exam will be conducted over the TDS System. Please read the explanations below carefully to take the online exam.
The exam is at B2 and C1 levels.
There are "Reading-Comprehension, Listening, Writing and Speaking" sections in the exam.
Each section is 25 points.
Sections are answered successively and the exam ends after the last speaking section.
NOTE: Çankırı Karatekin University students are not given a certificate after the Proficiency Exams. The results are reported to the departments you are registered in and those who are successful are considered exempted.
REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE THE EXAM
- An up-to-date computer with Windows 10 operating system (The exam cannot be taken from mobile devices such as phones, tablets, notepads and ipads.)
- A webcam
- A microphone
- A Speaker / Headphone
- Internet speed of at least 15 Mbps
- In a quiet environment where you will be alone (The exams of those who take the exam in noisy and crowded places such as internet cafes will not be evaluated and will be considered unsuccessful.
- You must have a TDS (www.onlinetds.org) membership.
- Applications specified in the Exam Application Rules Guide must be installed on your computer.
- In addition, the exam should only be taken with the up-to-date Google Chrome browser.

HOW CAN I BE A MEMBER OF TDS?
Go to the www.onlinetds.org website.
Click on the button named "Exam Participants"/“Sınav Katılımcıları”.
Click on the "Register Now"/“Hemen Kayıt Ol” button and enter your e-mail address and the password you will specify in the "Account Information"/“Hesap Bilgileri” section of the page that opens, and click the "Next" button.
On the page that opens, write your name and surname in the "Personal Information"/“Kişisel Bilgiler” section and select your nationality from the menu. The personal information you save must match your passport, national or foreign identity and similar official information. Also, upload your passport or ID copy and biometric photo on your computer.
Go to the next page by clicking the "Next" button. On the page that opens, write your mobile phone and your address information in the "Contact Information"/“İletişim Bilgileri” section.
Go to the next page by clicking the "Next" button. On the page that opens, a text called "Terms of Use"“Kullanım Koşulları” / will appear. In order to register to TDS, check the "I accept the terms of use" box at the bottom left and press the "FINISH" button.
After pressing the "FINISH" button, an activation mail will be sent to the e-mail you used in registration. Click on the activation link sent to your e-mail address.
Once your account is verified by the system and you complete your membership process, enter the system by clicking the "SIGN IN"/ “OTURUM AÇ” button by typing your e-mail and password you used during registration.

** Complete the registration to the TDS System at least 1 day before the exam and try activating your account and login to the system.
HOW CAN I TAKE THE TDS EXAM?
After logging into the system, click on "NEW EXAM"/“YENİ SINAV” on the right.
On the page that opens, write the exam code given below.
Proficiency exam code: (It will be active at exam time)
Finally, click the "TAKE THE EXAM"/“SINAVA KATIL” button to enter the exam.
Your exam starts with the "START"/"BAŞLAT" button on the right side of the exam screen.
** In order to start the exam, you must approve the webcam and audio permission on the exam screen. You cannot start the exam without the webcam.
